Noir Chocolate Spread
Exquisite silky dark chocolate spread perfect for slathering on toast, crackers, rice cakes, or for enjoying with strawberries or other fruit. This sweet decadent treat is pretty healthy too: rich in healthy omega-3 flax oil, full of antioxidant-rich cocoa, and sweetened naturally. It's kind of like a very dark nut-free version of nutella :-)
2 Tbsp cocoa
2 Tbsp agave syrup, maple syrup or honey
2 Tbsp unrefined flax oil
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
dash of sea salt
Use organic ingredients if you can. Mix everything together till smooth and glossy. Store covered in the fridge - it will solidify a bit to the consistency of soft butter. I double this recipe and keep it in a little glass jar in the fridge - though it's probably fine at room temperature too.
