Pretty little cookies made with oats, flax and dark chocolate...
"Had these at a B& B in the Niagara region-- you should try them they are great! Can be made into plain zucchini bread, mini-breads or mini muffins too."
Incredibly tasty almondy chocolaty crunchy cookies - high in fiber too.
Lovely with espresso or tea, great for dipping or crunching. An incredibly moist and flavourful banana bread made with freshly-ground whole almonds. This recipe is wheat and gluten-free, but you can use light whole spelt or wheat flour instead of the brown rice flour and starch if you like. Use high quality dark chocolate chips for a supremely delicious treat.
From the hands and heart of Kurt Frost in the kitchen of Sugar Ridge Retreat Centre. These are his famous brownies!
Gorgeous and delicious healthy banana bread marbled with chocolate.
This scrumptious cake is a variation of my grandmas recipe which I've updated to be wheat-free and lower in refined ingredients, sugar and fat. (This can be made with wheat flour too.) Richer than my Healthy Chocolate Zucchini Cake recipe, this version is delightfully airy with a delicate balance of aromatic ingredients + extra chocolate. (More info in my blog entry.)
Super-fine dark chocolate filled with smooth almond butter. Add a sprinkle of sea salt and whoa! (Based on this stellar recipe for classic peanut butter cups.) Beautiful, delicious, and dare I say nutritious?
Bittersweet dark nutty fruity chocolaty bliss! These slightly cakey brownies are much healthier than your average brownie, as they're made with natural whole ingredients.
A great classic from epicurious: "These crowd-pleasers are loaded with potassium and antioxidants. Double the recipe for playdates and parties."
This classic cake is based on my grandma's delicious (and very rich) recipe. I altered her recipe to make it healthier, while keeping the delicious flavours and texture of the original. This version uses whole ingredients, a lot less sugar and fat (over half as much! don't worry, the zucchini keeps things moist) - and more chocolate, spice and vanilla. (More info in my blog entry.)
Another Mexican inspiration, made with a genereous amount of Kahlua, cacao, walnuts, as well as purreed prunes/dates. A cakey brownie that's beautiful in texture and exquisitely flavored: rich, dark, moist, chocolaty, and not too sweet. Voted "best brownies of all time" by my partner!
Striking and delicious: rich dark dense chocolate torte with a subtle blend of Latin flavours, crowned with airy fragrant Honey Vanilla Marshmallow Frosting. Perfect for a fiesta :-)
Oatmeal peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies: similar to classic monster cookies, these MONSTER COOKIES have been remixed into sophisticated dairy-free (healthy) treats.
Exquisite silky dark chocolate spread perfect for slathering on toast, crackers, rice cakes, or for enjoying with strawberries or other fruit. This sweet decadent vegan treat is good for you too: rich in healthy omega-3 flax oil, full of antioxidant-rich cocoa, and sweetened with raw agave syrup. My own dark nut-free version of nutella :-)
Also known as 5-Bean Brownies. See the recipe here on my blog post about these incredibly delicious healthy *and* decadent treats.
Like an awesome chocolate milkshake - only better!
Bittersweet and divine - this loaf can also be made into my quintessential prune brownies. You can play with the ingredients and proportions in this wonderful versatile recipe that's surprisingly healthy and full of fiber!
Beautiful rich fudgey spicy brownies, inspired by Mayan spices and grains. These are dense and gooey - almost like a fudge. Sweet and rich, these are also packed with healthy fiber, cocoa, and sprouted seeds.
"Adapted from The Ultimate Healthy Eating Guide, a great cookbook and health guide that I recommend if you are looking for a healthy cookbook that contains up to date summaries on current research on healthy oils, nuts, flax, fish, and chocolate!"

Rich dark nutty fudge packed with precious minerals.
